Peace Mural

Local artist Jed Speer helped get this mural by Shepard Fairey of Obey Giant after meeting him and working on a project together.

The Peace mural is part of a series based on Jed's idea of a throwback to 90's rave culture, PLUR: Peace, Love, Unity, Respect. When looking for a wall to do the Peace mural he came across the Peace and Justice Center and thought it would be a perfect mashup of concept and building and a collaboration with Shepard Fairey would add to iconic idea. Initially he reached out to Shepard 2016 and after organizing with his team, the building owner and the Peace and Justice Center, the mural was finally up by 2018. However, Shepard was finishing a large mural in Sacramento before a trip to Russia but he sent his A team to come help with the Chico mural making it a legitimate Fairey collab.
