Raymond Carver Luminary Art Bench

After attending California State University, Chico in the late 1950s, Raymond Carver (1938-1988) went on to become one of the most influential short-story writers of the 20th Century. He often cited Chico as the place where he found his voice as a writer. His poem, "The Current," written in 1983, is inscribed on the bench.
