About 10 years after the hour hand sculpture was completed the city was approached by PG&E who wanted to install a much heftier Transformer box in the parking lot of City Hall and you know those boxes can be really unsightly and the city suggested because we've been working a lot with City projects to beautify them or or make them more interesting and give them a sense of place in terms of neighborhoods we actually suggested that PG&E include a screen around the boxes and hire an artist to do it PG&E agreed and they paid for it which is wonderful and they hired Jeff Lindsay who's a local metal artist in Chico to create these screens and Jeff quickly realized that he wanted to connect the screens to the our hand sculpture which certainly is one of chica's most iconic art and so he took pictures of different images on our hand sculpture and then actually cut them out of the metal the rest of metal and made these wonderful screens that definitely hide something that could have been quite unsightly.
