When you're standing on the 4th Street side of City Plaza look to the north and you'll see a wonderful mural depicting Sherwood Forest and Robinhood. This mural is an homage to the fact that the 1936 film Robin hood starring Erol Flynn, was filmed was filmed right here in beautiful Bidwell Park. There's amazing scenes of the park in an earlier time when it was so untouched in many ways and Chico was a tiny little town in 1936 and of course the movie people all came to town and took over and there's lots of stories even after all these years about making that movie in Chico. The mural was done by Scott Teeple and he used a local science professor as the model for Robinhood it's we were not able to use the ArolFlynn image because that is copyright protected by United Artists who made the movie, but it is a really fun mural and a little bit of Chico history.
