Transcript:

On the south side of the Salem Street parking structure and the north side actually is a set of arches made out of tile this project the city undertook to actually cover up in camouflage what had turned out to be a really ugly set of pillars after the parking cars down the alleyway and it was a great example of artists being hired after the fact to beautify something and they certainly did that it was also a great project because it involved over 3,000 school children who were all given tiles and and directed to create the image of diamonds in different colors that were also provided to them the artists Kathleen or Tui and David Barta completed it in 2003 and it really gives a wonderful message of community and of course these children now after all these years are adults and into their full lives and yet there is a little bit of them on these pillars and the arches.
