Downtown Kaleidoscope by Jesus Ramirez painted in 2001 is usually seen as you're driving into downtown Chico it's on the left side in a little island of garden and restroom right there and it was a very interesting project for the city to do because early adopter of the digital medium and the city hired him that he was going to do a painted mural and he really convinced the city to do a digital mural this was in the early 2000s when not much of this was going on and he designed the mural which you can see has a lot of fun activities depicted on his computer and then actually literally shipped a hard drive back East to have these panels produced and in those days it was a huge partner these days hard drives are tiny but in early 2000s they were quite bulky and quite expensive to ship back east but in the end the city got a wonderful mural that is very very durable and continues to be very well loved.
