Dancing trout Fountain was built in 2003 by Patrick collentine and Susan Larson where the fountain is located on the Main Street side of City Hall there was a decrepit old fountain that had long been not used and the city decided that they wanted a new Fountain and so they put out a call to artists to to design something new for the city and Patrick and Susan came up with the idea of the dancing trout and they made the tile in the fountain to act like dabbling leaves when you look at the water you see the tile in the base of the fountain and it reflects the light the water that's coming out of the Trout's mouth is calibrated to be at kind of a dancing they're all different calibrations so that they're not all spouting water exactly the same way and they actually went out and collected leaves from all around downtown and made impressions of them in the concrete base around the fountain. Susan was a printmaker and this was a use of her printmaking skills; this Fountain is very much enjoyed all year round.
