Transcript:
When the city of Chico needed to replace the city plaza trees it was a huge project and a very sensitive one for the community because in order to do that they had to cut down hundred year old Elm trees that were beloved by the whole town and as part of the project the city decided to incorporate a lot of artists to try and make the city plaza come alive in other ways and engaged the community and meaningful ways. This mural North was commissioned by the city and William EverOne did the mural on the North side and then later did a mural of the same trolley but from the other direction on the other side of the restroom these were based on old postcards that were found and it was a really fun project because William EverOne actually went down the Esplanade as you can see in the hall and he went to that area and actually dug up dirt and grounded into pigment and used it as part of his painting process.
