Lori Escobar

Growing up in Clovis, Ca, Lori was inspired by her artistic mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who inspired and encouraged her lifelong art journey. She moved to the east coast to attend college in Baltimore at the Maryland Institute College of Art majoring in Illustration. Having an interest in a variety of art styles, Lori found a job at Fifth Sun in Chico, Ca in graphic design and illustration for T-shirts and apparel in 2005 and has lived in Chico ever since. Fifth Sun has now become part of Mad Engine Global and Lori is a senior artist in the ecommerce department.

In 2014 Lori backpacked Europe to discover art by the old masters, contemporary art and all the museums she could find. She even tried out stone sculpture carving in Scotland. Art has been a core part of Lori’s life: sketching, painting, drawing, digital art and stop-motion. She has a never ending thirst for learning new mediums and creating imaginative art. She has recently begun participating in small pop-up markets and fairs in town selling original art and drawing portraits live.

Lori joined the Chico Arts and Culture Foundation in 2022.

“I’m excited to participate in the Chico Arts and Culture Foundation and serve my community and promote local art and culture!”
